CO-MORBIDITIES AND RISK FACTORS
Atrial Fibrillaton is typical of elderly age, but there are other conditions that can favour its insurgence, like co-morbidities and risk factors.

Co-morbidities
- Valvular heart disease
- Hypertensive heart disease
- Ischemic heart disease
- Cardiomyopathies
- Heart failure

Risk percentage:
The risk of having this arrhythmia is around 25 per cent for people older than 40. It means that, from that age on, 1 out of 4 subjects will experience Atrial Fibrillation in his or her lifetime.
